The hardest part

I think the hardest part about homeschooling is constantly wondering if your child is doing ok. If he is learning everything that he should, if he is really understanding what you are teaching him, and how he compares to his peers.

And then you fall to your knees and cry out to the LORD, because you will always have these worries. Because you can't do it without Him. Because you really just got to trust Him that He will fill in the gaps.

You start out each year with high hopes and grand plans and then you realize you need Him, that you will only ever accomplish the things the Lord wants you to.

Its letting go and letting God. Trusting in the Lord to use you as a vessel to teach your children. Its submitting to Him. Its when you do this, its when He can get all the glory that the best learning can happen for both of you.

There are days when it seems like you will never get through your lesson; that this child will never learn anything you are trying to teach him. But then you will have days when his penmanship is beautiful, when he recites his Bible verses perfectly, when he does well in phonics and he remembers how to do his addition and subtraction. It makes it all worth it.

Psalm 34:4

I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
